Egon Schiele (1890-1918)

Egon Schiele (1890-1918)

Schiele’s body of work is as interesting as his short life. Although it has early influences of Klimt, he has created his own restless style. I see his personality more than his art, and cant stop imagining his rebellious, restless, drifting world which consumed him eventually…

  1. Is he supposed to look like he is on fire? Sorry, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to art but would love to learn more about it.

    • As far this picture goes.. he is perhaps trying to represent that discomfort of the ordinariness..metaphysically representing that using those burning colors.. Or it could be none of the above…. never know whats in an artists head

    • Hey … dint read your question right.. thought you meant about his life and not literally this pix.. sorry about that. 🙂

      • No problem. I liked your hypothesis though…a metaphysical representation of his discomfort of the ordinary. I love the contrast between the anguish of his hands and the blankness of his gaze.
